Ever since the advent of my senior year, I've decided to take on a healthier and more wholesome lifestyle. I've incorporated 2-3 days of exercise every week, and I've lessened my intake of junk food. That being said, with a new drive to take better care of my body, I've also started getting really into skin care. After my trip to Japan, I've become especially more conscious about committing to a good cleansing routine. But even with my daily facial procedure set, I still feel as if there's something missing.
I've never been one to focus too much on my body's skin. The way I see it, as long as I'm not peeling and scarring, I'm pretty much good to go. But with my recent enlightenment, I've realized that there's more to cleansing your physique than just smearing random wash products on it.
So with the decision to upgrade my body skin's care routine, I began my journey for the ultimate holy grail product.
And when God said, "Ask and you shall receive", he was not kidding, because, lo and behold, I found Goodish.
Goodish is a start-up health and beauty brand centered on creating cruelty-free and eco-friendly artisan soaps made from 100% organic materials. Handcrafted in Odessa, Texas, the brand holds a wide range of beautiful scented bars, each carrying its own unique purpose.
And luckily for me, I was able to snag three gorgeous pieces; First Blush, Lemongrass Sage, and the oh-so-quirky, Beach Please.
If just by the creative names you've already been sold, then get ready, because it only gets better.
The First Blush is a red and peach marvel with gold flecks adorning the side. Although it's made of 11 natural materials, the soap boasts of it's 3 main components-- shea butter, blush wine, and grapefruit. Once I learned this, I was instantly smitten. Shea butter is known for it's amazing ability to relieve dry skin, erase blemishes and discolorations (be it may stretch marks, sunburn, or insect bites), moisturize, and reduce under-eye wrinkles, dark circles, and bags. Blush wine on the other hand is the perfect ingredient for radiant, rejuvenated skin to achieve that youthful, summer glow. Add in the skin-brightening and acne-healing capacities of Grapefruit, and you have yourself a soap that long-lasting benefits that make-up products spend hours on end trying to achieve.
As for the Lemongrass Sage, you have a mixture 12 au naturale ingredients with shea butter and organic coconut milk as the front-liners, packed in a creamy yellow bar with bits of green sprinkled on the edges. With the butterbaum's astounding properties, plus the coconut milk's reputation as a "miracle liquid" capable of moisturizing, treating sunburn, and protecting the body from infections, it's no doubt that this dream team is a definite match made in heaven.
And lastly, the Beach Please is a nautical mix of blue and green wave-likes swirls, that too sports 12 additive-free ingredients and shea butter as one of its main elements. But this time, it's paired with the vegan's best friend-- almond milk. It's no secret that these two are quite a crowd favorite in the skin care sphere, and it's not for no reason. The combination of vitamin A's ability to ward off free radicals, antioxidants' reparation of damaged skin, and it's general capacity to regulate oil for the the reduction of acne, whiteheads, and blackheads, make them a duo you'd be ridiculous not to cop!
Their description on their social media may say "We're not perfect, we're goodish", but at this point, I think perfection might just be the exact description we're looking for.
How that's for a triple threat?
